However, many fans credit this show for “making camp cool again,” allowing for the recent resurgence in popularity with the old 60s show, and more lighthearted DC-based fare, in general. However, the show never really managed to find a solid foothold, so to speak, with most fans it lasted three seasons, and it came out at a time when the “grim and gritty” ideal was still very much in vogue, as it essentially still is now. As the show went on, it began to drift away from this idea, bringing in more and more of those “mainstream” characters, but the show’s respect and care of these “old school” figures and the sense of style it had garnered a lot of fan-based respect. show from the 1960s, as well as the Silver Age of Comics in general - began as a showcase of many of DCs more underrated, or at least underused, heroes and villains, with Batman teaming-up with various superheroes to take on various supervillains that, until the show came out, many more mainstream fans weren’t really familiar with.
